With their name being taken after a mountain range in Cuba where Che Guevara’s revolution was based, it is already looking as though Sierra Maestra’s career is likely to climb higher than their namesake. Already creating interest from Oasis discoverer Alan McGhee, 2009 also ended on a high when they supported Alabama 3 in London on New Years Eve. Described as having enough in their armory to ineluctably force you to fall in love with their fusion of slick grooves and loungy synth trajectory, you can see what all the fuss is about when they perform a selection of dates in London throughout February, details of which can be found on their website.
