So, what the heck is a podcast anyway?!?!?!?!

Defined by Wikipedia, podcasting is Personal On Demand broadCAST (or podcast for short).
A podcast can be either an audio or a video feed (Video podcasting is also known as vidcast) you create on any topic you wish and share it with the world.
You can use a service like PodOmatic which has it's own player, or download to your computer via  RSS subscription and then place it on your iPod, or mp3 player to listen to on the go!

Here at Radio Galactica, we are using podcasting to distribute our initial shows before we actually move to streaming audio...  in the future we hope to place our interviews with bands and artists here for you to hear, just in case you didn't catch them live!

We might also be looking for DJs who aren't really interested in doing streaming audio, but are interested in doing a show for the podcast!
If you're interested in this please contact the station at : radiogalacticaus@gmail.com

So now that I know what it is, how do I listen to the show? Now, that's easy! Just head over to http://radiogalactica.net and you can listen to the shows there!
If your interested in subscribing to the podcast to automatically receive the latest podcast episodes, head over to
http://radiogalactica1.podomatic.com and click on the "RSS feed" link in the "Subscribe to podcast" area of the page!

When you subscribe with the RSS feed, anytime a new show becomes available you'll be able to download that show to your system.
However, we really recommend you listen to the show via the player!

You can also listen to the podcasts over at the Myspace pages of DJ SilverFox, DJ Big Al and DJ MidnightLady with PodOmatic's player as well!

Is their a way to join you all in doing podcasts? Yes there is! Just send an e-mail to radiogalacticaus@gmail.com with "Podcast DJ"  in the subject line and we'll answer any questions you have!

I thought you guys were an internet radio station? We are! In fact we're in the process of securing a server to broadcast on as we speak!... but for the time being we're using podcasting to give our DJs a chance to continue their shows that would normally run on our live stream.

I'm actually interested in becoming an Internet Radio DJ. Can you help me? We'll be looking for new DJs to join the live stream in the near future. Until then, if you're interested in becoming a part of Radio Galactica, just send an e-mail to radiogalactica@googlemail.com
for more information on how you can help!
